Volunteer Transport Service
Volunteer Drivers

We run a transport scheme enabling people to attend hospital appointments, visit relatives, go to the shops or other social appointments.

Public transport is not always an option for many people, because of disability or frailty, or simply because there is no public transport available in some rural areas. Hospitals too are not always that accessible to people without cars.

If you need help, please contact our Transport Department between 0930 and 1230 on 01304 380513.  We ideally like at least 3 working days notice, but always endeavour to fulfil requests even at short notice.  There is a charge of 45p a mile for this service which covers the drivers expenses (set by the Inland Revenue in relation to petrol costs, wear and tear on the car) and a small administrative charge to cover the costs of phone calls made in arranging a driver.
